When I started blogging, I aspired one day to be featured in something like Washingtonian’s Blogger Beat. So imagine my excitement when Emily Leaman got in touch with me a few weeks ago to interview me for the feature. Check out my interview with Emily, learn a bit more about me and my opinions of all things U street. And thanks so much to Emily for getting in touch and Chris for taking a great, anonymous photo for me.

Sweet write up. Congrats and nice photo! I wonder if I’ve spotted you at Solly’s before…
On the topic of Cork vs. Vinoteca (and carrying on from previous thread), also love em both, but must recommend trying the Dickson. Went this weekend for the first time and loved the cozy atmosphere, the wine list and umm.. pork belly banh mi sandwiches.

I really need to go, Ron. In the middle of moving in less than a week though, so I’ll have to delay a bit. And thanks!

Congratulations! I don’t comment much (or ever, I guess), but I regularly read your blog and appreciate the time and effort you put in to reporting on my/our neighborhood.

The littering is not a small thing! I’m so glad to hear that you also feel that way and mentioned it to Washingtonian.com. I have voiced my complaints to others, but it seems to fall on deaf ears or they don’t feel as strongly about it as I do. At least once a week, I take a trash bag (or two) to my block on Florida Ave between 14th and 15th and pick up discarded alcohol containers, Funyuns/Doritos bags, condom wrappers, and plastic bags (CVS/black liquor store-type). This type of trash is a direct result of littering, not trash blowing out of cans or recycling containers. I’m up for any ideas to help the whole neighborhood. I can only keep my eyes and trash bag out for a block or two at a time. I’m glad I’m not alone!

Thanks Kevin – the only reason I see it as small as it’s not something like rampant violence, crime, drug use, poverty etc. And thanks for what you do! I’m not sure the best way to take care of the trash, perhaps starting a clean up group every month or so.

nice photo, you look glam. and hot, which I understand is what most writers seek out of life.
